Operation During the COVID-19 Pandemic
An Updated Statement to our Customers:
May 6, 2020
During these challenging and unprecedented times related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the safety and well-being of you, the patients, our employees, and the broader medical community remain our top priority. We wanted to update our prior statement to address some of the actions we are taking to ensure our continued support of practices with a re-entry plan that reflects the current dynamic landscape.
It is our mission to provide patients and physicians with industry leading solutions for the treatment of sacropelvic disorders, and to ensure that our products are broadly available at all sites of service. We are working with both hospitals and ASCs to ensure product is on site and ready for when patients have the ability to receive their elective procedure. We believe many ASCs may open earlier to elective procedures, and we want to be ready to support surgeons and their patients whose surgical care is appropriate regardless of site of service. In an effort to support facility customers during this time, we have developed additional resources to provide to them and their care teams, including training, education, and support for any site of service. If you would like more information on this, please contact us here.
SI-BONE continues to monitor and adhere to the latest safety guidelines established by the CDC, CMS, and relevant state and local authorities. In the interim, we are offering web-based training on telehealth and other relevant topics for HCPs, to help provide continuity of care. Our reimbursement team continues to work with surgeon offices and facilities via an online portal, to keep prior authorizations for already diagnosed patients moving through the reimbursement system. Finally, we are equipping our field team with appropriate PPE, so that they can safely service HCPs, facilities and patients as reopening occurs.
A Letter to our Customers:
March 20, 2020
During these challenging and unprecedented times related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the safety and well-being of you, the patients, our employees, and the broader medical community is on the top of our minds. We wanted to address some of the actions we are taking to ensure our continued support of practices during these rapidly changing and uncertain times.
SI-BONE INTERNAL FACILITIES: We have taken several internal actions with our team, suppliers, and our employees about maintaining a heightened awareness and prevention of how the virus can be transmitted. With that, we have taken several additional steps to ensure the cleanliness of our facility and devices that are shipped and delivered from the field.
YOUR SURGICAL PROCEDURES: We recognize that the status of elective sacroiliac joint fusions varies across the country. We maintain significant inventory of instrument sets and implants that are in the possession of our representatives and supply will remain unaffected. We also understand that some facilities may be limiting representatives’ access to support your procedures. If you become aware of any circumstances in your facility that may prevent us from supporting your procedure, please let us know so we can make alternative support arrangements.
TRAVEL: Travel is an important part of our day to day operations, we are limiting air travel in certain circumstances and setting up virtual case support, training and communication programs to limit in-person interactions between customers and vendors when required. If you have any immediate needs for training or case support, please reach out to us so we can make proper and timely arrangements.
We will continue to monitor the CDC website and maintain awareness of recommendations from the Surgeon General in regard to further cancellations of elective surgeries. If any of your case scheduling changes, please make our local representative or our customer service team aware so we can be ready for you upon rescheduling.
Thank you for your patience and support during this time. Should you have questions please contact your local SI-BONE representative or our Customer Service Group at 669-206-2622.
