Novel percutaneous allograft implants used to treat SI joint dysfunction in an 83-year-old male.

Patient Case History:

  • Received over 4 SI joint injections
  • Lumbar Rhizotomy (bilateral L4/L5, L5/S1 facets)
  • Previous spinal cord stimulator relieved leg pain but not SI joint pain
  • Persistent lower back pain, worse on the right, extending to buttocks and posterior thighs

Surgical Procedure:

  • Utilized light IV sedation with local anesthetic and epinephrine
  • Performed an SI joint injection under INTRA view before surgery (Fig. 1)
  • Placed INTRA X Allografts (Fig. 2)
  • Closed with DERMABOND and protected with gauze and Tegadermdressing
