Novel percutaneous allograft implants used to treat SI joint dysfunction in an 83-year-old male.
Patient Case History:
- Received over 4 SI joint injections
- Lumbar Rhizotomy (bilateral L4/L5, L5/S1 facets)
- Previous spinal cord stimulator relieved leg pain but not SI joint pain
- Persistent lower back pain, worse on the right, extending to buttocks and posterior thighs
Surgical Procedure:
- Utilized light IV sedation with local anesthetic and epinephrine
- Performed an SI joint injection under INTRA view before surgery (Fig. 1)
- Placed INTRA X Allografts (Fig. 2)
Closed with DERMABOND™ and protected with gauze and Tegaderm™dressing
