Novel percutaneous allograft implants used to treat SI joint dysfunction in a 73-year-old female.
Patient Case History:
- History of osteoporosis, treatment with Prolia®
- History of rheumatoid arthritis
- mild® procedure (L3-L4)
- L4 Kyphoplasty for vertebral compression fracture
- Four prior SI joint injections with >80% pain relief for 1 month
Surgical Procedure:
Utilized MAC with IV and local sedation
Confirmed joint entry with a spinal needle under imaging (Fig. 1)
Viewed the posterior portion of the SI joint using the INTRA view
Two iFuse INTRA X Allografts placed in the intra-articular part of the joint (Fig. 2)
Closed with DERMABOND™ and protected with gauze and Tegaderm™ dressing
