How common are SI joint problems?

It is commonly reported in clinical literature that up to 30% of chronic lower back pain is caused by the SI joint. Risk factors associated with lower back pain may include: smoking, poor physical condition, positive family history, and occupational exposure to repetitive trauma to the SI joint.1-3
